To serve as a trusted office operating from the principles of transparency and integrity
We value our independence. As an independent position, the Special Advocate’s focus is to act as a voice for Survivors and Affected Persons and their families.
Meaningful and impartial consultations will be conducted with openness and transparency. Relevant information and documentation will be widely publicised and freely available.
We will act with integrity and honesty, and challenge discrimination and inequality.
It is important to allow the full spectrum of views to be heard and all Survivors and Affected Persons will be supported to participate and share their views. Consultation processes will be focused on the needs of participants.
Each Survivor and Affected Person or stakeholder will be empowered with an equal opportunity to voice their opinions and raise issues should they wish to do so.
We respect and value people and will continue to promote inclusion, empathy and diversity. Consultations will be conducted to the highest ethical standards. It is important that Survivors can freely express their views without fear of personal criticism or undue pressure by anyone.
